MXR Electric Guitar Phase Shifter Review
I purchased this MXR electric guitar phase shifter a few years ago. To be honest, I didn't know what a phase shifter did when I bought it, but it was 30 bucks on a late night ebay auction. From what I've read, this orange, one knobbed pedal practically defined the classic phase shifter sound. The MXR Phase 90 Pedal gives you classic phasing with variable speed control. Add shimmer to lead passages or jet-plane resonance to muted strumming. The Phase 90 has been stomped through 70s jazz fusion, 80's hard rock, and even 90s grunge. The newer models are remarkably close to older models in terms of overall sound and durability, like my MXR compressor, the case is bullet proof. Vary the speed from a subtle, long cycle to a fast, watery warble with endless vintage vibrations in between. The MXR phase shifter is powered by a single 9V battery or Dunlop ECB-003 AC Adapter. As a gear freak, getting a new pedal in the mail is like Christmas. My music style doesn't require the use of a phase shifter, or flanger, very often, but if yours does this ones cheap, and has been around for ever.
